2022 ADBC Outreach Scholarship Deadline Feb. 1

Since 2011, the Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus has awarded deserving college students attending historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Arkansas a scholarship. This year two students will be presented with a $500 scholarship at the 18th Annual King Kennedy Awards on February 19.

The new deadline for submissions is Tuesday, February 1, 2022

The ADBC established the scholarship to increase the number of qualified, yet underrepresented, minority college students, preferably to those majoring in the field of public service. The scholarship is designed to assist with educational expenses currently enrolled at Arkansas Baptist College, Philander Smith College, Shorter College and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Please forward this email to someone you know including students, their parents, as well as faculty and staff at the HBCUs today. Help us spread the word!

Join the ADBC at the 2022 King Kennedy Awards!

The Arkansas Democratic Black Caucus (ADBC) is excited to host the 18th Annual King Kennedy Awards honoring outstanding individuals and organizations for significant contributions to their communities and to the natural state. In celebration of Black History Month, this year’s event will be held in person on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at the Venue at Westwind, 7318 Windsong Drive in North Little Rock. As one of the official auxiliary groups of the Democratic Party of Arkansas, we are committed to help get Democrats elected throughout the state. More specifically, we are determined to do our part to win constitutional seats such as governor, break the supermajority in the state House, and maintain our majority hold in county-level seats. Our annual King Kennedy occasion serves as the primary fundraising effort to gather the necessary resources to support the operations and financially support Democratic candidates. Additionally, this event supports underrepresented minority students through college scholarships. We can’t afford to give republicans a stronger hold on our state. This past legislative session was filled with painful reminders of what we stand to lose when we don’t have enough Democrats in office to protect what is most important to us such as affordable healthcare, voting rights, and support of public education. We have a lot of work to do and as Democratic leaders we have to work together. We are ready to do our part to encourage people to vote in this upcoming 2022 election cycle. Your generous donation can help the Black Caucus make an even stronger impact throughout our great state. So, we have developed sponsorship levels for all budgets including one just for county committees and the DNC leadership.
